We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website. Contact us at info@builtin.digital. All email from us comes from the builtin.digital domain.
This policy covers the website at builtindigital.com, including builtin.digital which redirects to it (the "Site").
2. What we collect and why
We collect very little. The Site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking.
Server logs. Our hosting provider processes the technical data your browser sends to serve the Site: IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time. We use this to run the Site and keep it secure. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (operating and securing the Site).
Enquiry forms. If you submit an enquiry, we collect the details you enter: name, company, email address, phone number and your message. We use these solely to respond to you and, where relevant, to discuss working together. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (responding to enquiries) and steps taken before entering a contract.
Join forms. If you apply through the join page, we collect your name, email address, phone number, background and the track you select. We use these to assess your application and contact you about it. Please do not include health, ethnicity or other special category information in free text fields. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (recruiting operatives) and steps taken before entering a contract.
Email and phone. Links on the Site open your own email or phone app. Anything you then send us is used only to respond to you.
We do not sell personal data, use it for marketing without your consent, or make automated decisions about you.
3. Who we share it with
Vercel Inc. hosts the Site. Vercel processes IP addresses and request logs to deliver pages. Vercel is based in the United States; transfers are covered by Vercel's data processing agreement, which incorporates standard contractual clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
Web3Forms relays form submissions to our inbox. Web3Forms states it does not store submissions after delivery.
IONOS hosts our email. IONOS is based in the European Union and processes email under its data processing agreement.
We may also share personal data with professional advisers where necessary, or where required by law.
4. How long we keep it
- Server logs: retained by Vercel for a short period for security and reliability, then deleted.
- Enquiries: 24 months from our last contact with you, unless you become a client.
- Join applications: 12 months from the date of application, unless you join us.
- Client records: six years after the end of the engagement, to meet legal and accounting obligations.
5. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:
- provide a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- correct anything inaccurate
- delete your data
- restrict how we use it
- provide it in a portable format
- stop processing where we rely on legitimate interests
Email info@builtin.digital. We will respond within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.
6. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data, please tell us first at info@builtin.digital. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and aim to resolve it promptly.
If you are still dissatisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
7. Security
Personal data is held in access-controlled accounts with two-factor authentication. No internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Site is intended for construction industry professionals and is not aimed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes
We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the Site.
